The Wave announced Tuesday that the former club captain has joined the team's ownership as a minority investor.

Former U.S. women's national team legend and San Diego Wave FC forward Alex Morgan is adding to her investment portfolio. The two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist is the newest minority investor with her former club,

Morgan retired in September, adding that she was pregnant with her second child. In March, Morgan and her husband, former St. Augustine High School standout Servando Carrasco, welcomed a son named Enzo Michael. Now Morgan is back, albeit in a new role.
