Unfortunately, the only day we could go was the only day it was cloudy. So we didn’t see much of the volcano. It was a nice enough walk, though. We took the El Ceibo trail detour and didn’t see many …Full review by 309raven

Such a beautiful place and experience is easily spoiled by the rip off prices. Nowhere else in the works would anyone be asked to pay $26 per keratin to walk a trail of two hours duration, what is th…Full review by Paul A
My husband and I would like to do the self guided hiking in April. Do I need to purchase tickets in advance and if so is there a website where I can do that? The only website I found at sinac.go, doesn't seem to work when I push the buy button. Thanks

Hi, we booked our tour months in advance from Viator. Enjoy!
I am going to be in La fortuna in july and was wanting to go to the arenal national park without a guide. I will be staying at The Springs Resort and Spa. What is the easiest way to get to the park. I am not planning on renting a car. Also is there uber there or just taxis ?

As far as the walking the park without a guide, its very simple, we didnt have a guide either. From The Springs Resort and Spa to the entrance is about a 25 minute drive. I did see a few Ubers in Lafortuna but im not sure how common they really are, i saw them down town. While you are at Arenal National Park, i would recommend the Arenal Observatory Lodge hiking trails. These trails are at the entrance of the Observatory Lodge hotel but i actually enjoyed them more then the National Park. There are multiple trails in all different variety..when you first go in they are paved side walks but then it turns into dirt trails everywhere else. Theres also a tall viewing platforms where you get really good views of the volcano, unique rainbow eucalyptus trees (google them! they arent painted) & waterfalls.
If i pay the general admission to get inside the park how much are the individual activities. What is the cost of each activity without being part of a guided tour package.

The park is just walking trail, no additional activities inside. When you pay to enter the park, the entrance fee also gives you admission to the peninsula down the road if you wanted to stop there. There are also walking trails at Arenal Observatory Lodge that are great as well-if not better then the national park but in a completely different way-i suggest doing both.
