Sunnyside is a city in Yakima County, Washington, United States. The population was 16,375 at the 2020 census, making it the second-most populous city in Yakima County. Up through the early portion of the 19th century, the portion of the Yakima Valley where Sunnyside is now located was inhabited by the "Taptat-ħlama". These people hunted and fished along Yakima River from the mouth of Satus Creek to present Kiona, with a key fishery at near present-day Prosser.
